COVID-19 Response Fund

Thank you for your continued support of the Dartmouth General Hospital and its staff and patients.

Your support of the Dartmouth General Hospital has been essential to the caliber of care we have been able to deliver to our patients and that couldn’t be more evident than at a time such as this.

As we face this global pandemic, know that the Dartmouth General Hospital is working closely with our partners at Nova Scotia Health and the Department of Health and Wellness to ensure safe care for patients being tested or treated for COVID-19. We are also ensuring the care for all of our patients remains to the highest standard. And you can stand beside our healthcare superheroes.

We are currently raising funds to support the needs of our staff and patients facing COVID-19. Funds raised will support the following areas:

Support of our Medical Teams and Patients

The health and safety of our staff and patients is a top priority. Funds raised will help purchase critical care equipment and personal protective equipment to elevate patient care during this pandemic. As we work to determine the needs as this situation evolves, funds raised will be dispersed to priority equipment.

Technology and Tools for Communication

Funds raised will support the purchase of digital technologies, like tablets, that allow patients to connect with their family and friends in a safe and effective way. With visitor limitations now in effect due to recommendations by the Government of Nova Scotia for social distancing, this will be vital for maintaining communications with loved ones. We have also added free Wi-Fi available in patient areas throughout the Dartmouth General to improve communications.

Innovative Solutions

Our staff pride themselves on their innovative solutions to help deliver exceptional care. We are currently working on innovative projects to assist with barriers and limitations that are occurring due to COVID-19. This includes projects like our ‘drive-thru’ COVID-19 assessment area that is providing ease of access as well as social distance and the creation of personal protective equipment such as face shields which are currently in high demand globally.
